Perhaps you now work with children but would like to encourage and empower the adults who work with children?
Perhaps you lead one area of service to children but would like to explore opportunities for more leadership?
If you resonate with any of those hypothetical situations – or another like them – you will want to check this out:
The Grace Community Church, located just outside of Washington, D.C. in Arlington, VA, is seeking a full-time Children’s Pastor who will provide spiritual guidance and leadership, cast vision, create systems, recruit and train volunteers, develop leaders, and work with the three part-time Graceland team coordinators (nursery, preschool and elementary) to lead the Graceland program (newborns through sixth grade). The ideal candidate for this position is characterized by high-energy, a passion for the discipleship of children, integrity, listening and communication skills, and a growing understanding of the Bible.
The Children’s Pastor will join an enthusiastic and dedicated ministry team led by John Slye, the founding pastor of Grace Community Church, a young, diverse, contemporary, non-denominational congregation with a vision to be a church for people who don’t go to church. The congregation was founded in Christmas Eve 2000, and now worships over 700 adults and 100 children each week. A vibrant, mission-minded church committed to leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus, Christ Church focuses its ministry on relevant teaching, spiritual practices, life-changing relationships, and faith-building service.
Arlington VA is a racially diverse, highly educated, and thriving community of nearly 210,000 people. Although perhaps best known to visitors as the home of the Pentagon, The Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima) and Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington includes high quality residential neighborhoods. Time and time again, it has been recognized as one of the best places in the United States to live. Plus, with only 5% of its citizens attending church services, Arlington is an ideal place to plant a church for people who don’t go to church.
