Fort Wayne, Indiana is a city of 300,000 with all the amenities and challenges of an urban community. First Missionary Church is a central city church surrounded by ethnic diversity and many households in need of basic necessities.
The ideal candidate will whole-heartedly embrace the church’s vision, position, purpose and mission as God’s people in the body of Christ, be ordained (or willing to pursue ordination) as a pastor by the Missionary Church USA (MCUSA), and meet the biblical qualifications of a pastor (1 Timothy 3:1-8; 1 Peter 5:1-5; Ephesians 4:11). In areas of qualification, the ideal candidate will demonstrate gifting and passion for revitalizing a congregation and developing a culture of active participation in ministry. In addition, the ideal candidate will be gifted in the areas of shepherding/relationship skills, be culturally relevant, and encourage/motivate spiritual growth in the congregation. Preference may be given to candidates who hold the Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary.
First Missionary Church of Fort Wayne (organized in 1906) is an historic evangelical church adhering to biblical authority, blending elder leadership with congregational polity, and affiliated with the Missionary Church of America.
