GRIP Outreach for Youth: Opportunities for Ministry in Chicago

logoGRIP is one of the best things going in the city of Chicago. Plus, its ministry to high school youth is unparalleled. Founded in 2004 with the mission to “break the fatherless cycle through Christ-centered, Life-on-Life relationships,” this growing non-profit offers signature programs such as SLAM (over 100 youth gather each Monday in a gymnasium on the campus of Moody Bible Institute), Grip the School, the Legacy Conference (a resource for equipping urban leaders), and Streetlights (an urban tailored audio Bible). Those programs open doors for Gospel sharing, relationship building, immersion in community, and prayer. They also serve the ultimate goal of dynamic and wholistic life-on-life relationships between fatherless youth and dedicated volunteers.

GRIP Outreach For Youth in Chicago plans to add four engaging and relational individuals to its dedicated team:

Each position provides a great opportunity for a person passionate about pouring into the lives of fatherless high-school students in Chicago, for a maturing Christ-follower excited by the prospect of Chicago teens growing into solid Christian adults who positively impact their communities, and for a hard-working individual who longs to be a difference maker in the world.life-on-life

Chicago is a world-class city with its share of challenges and opportunities. On its good days, the city is a diverse and vibrant place to live–with great parks, transportation, museums, food, art, and music, plus easy access to Lake Michigan. On its more challenging days, it calls Christ-followers to not only pray, but step up and be part of the solution–and you will not be alone as the growing GRIP team currently includes eighteen individuals. The GRIP offices are located just northwest of Chicago’s “Loop.”
