Hanford (CA) Church Seeks Co-Pastor

The Hanford Christian Reformed Church has launched a search for a Co-Pastor. This vibrant congregation with over 500 members and a track-record of growth, has been serving the Hanford community for over 100 years. For the last three years the congregation has also been hosting and nurturing a Spanish speaking congregation of over 200 people.

As the Hanford Church begins a second century of service, it has affirmed its purpose “to see people enfolded into Jesus’ family where together we will exalt the Lord and build each other up, in order to equip ourselves for loving service.” Towards that end, the congregation’s leadership has decided to add a second full-time pastor to the ministry team.

The new co-pastor will serve the congregation as its Director of Congregational Life. In this vital role, he will provide leadership for the discipleship ministry of the congregation. He will also have opportunity to direct Stephen Ministries, preach regularly, and provide pastoral care for a segment of the congregation. He will work alongside the Rev. Lambert Sikkema, a veteran pastor who has guided the congregation with a steady hand since 2002.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about discipleship, as well as a gifted communicator and leader. He will have earned a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary and will be ordained or prepared for ordination within the CRCNA.

The city of Hanford, an important commercial and cultural center in central California, is a beautiful and diverse community of about 55,000 people. The city is enriched by the presence of Hanford Christian School (K-8). Central Valley Christian High School is located in nearby Visalia.
