Lead Pastor Opportunity (Muskegon, MI)

bethhany-logoBethany Christian Reformed Church has begun the search for a Lead Pastor to usher her into a new chapter of ministry, one in which the congregation pursues Christ’s passion for children and young people, Christ’s promises through fervent prayer, and Christ’s power to reconcile people to each other and to God. The Lead Pastor of Bethany Christian Reformed Church will lead, nurture and maintain a structure and environment for multicultural and multi-generational ministry as the presence of Christ in core-city Muskegon. The primary responsibilities for the Lead Pastor include preaching, pastoral care, and leadership.

Bethany Church was founded in 1903 as the first English-speaking congregation in Classis Muskegon of the Christian Reformed Church. In the 1960s, when the demographics of our neighborhood began to change and many area congregations relocated, Bethany chose to stay at the corner of Terrace and Hartford. As a result, today Bethany is a multicultural congregation characterized by diversity of age, class, customs, education, ethnic or national origin, gender, language, physical ability, and race. In addition, the pastoral staff, the Council, and preaching team enjoy the gift of racial and gender diversity.
