River Valley Christian Fellowship (RVCF), located in Bourbonnais, IL just fifty miles south of Chicago, has begun a nationwide search for a Director of Worship Ministries. This gifted artist will provide leadership for the worship ministry of the congregation. This leadership will flow from: a personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, a maturing faith, a steadfast and humble character, a reliance on the authority of Scripture and prayer, and a call to equip the saints.
The Director of Worship Ministries will be responsible for planning, preparing, and leading the worship services of the congregation, as well as recruiting, training and discipling the volunteers involved in leading such services. The ideal candidate for this position will be a quality vocalist and skilled instrumentalist with a working knowledge of music theory. He or she will also have prior experience leading worship services, teams, staff, and small groups.
For the past ten years, RVCF has been led by Senior Pastor Derick Miller who has developed a stable and effective staff while leading the largest non-affiliated, evangelical congregation in the region. The congregation, whose mission is to “grow deep and reach wide,” ministers to college students from Olivet Nazarene University and Kankakee Community College. Currently, about 1000 people gather for three services each Sunday in a beautiful and growing facility. The most recent expansion included a second gathering space called the “South Venue.” The current renovation project addresses space for guests, youth ministry, and ministry staff.
The Village of Bourbonnais is home to over 18,000 residents. The village is adjacent to both Bradley and Kankakee. Together these three communities form what is considered a “small metro region” of over 60,000 residents, giving Bourbonnais a small town feeling with big city amenities. The village is graced, not only by the 5,000 students of the aforementioned Olivet Nazarene University, but also by the Kankakee River State Park and the naturally channeled Kankakee River.
