Opportunity to Serve Bethel Church (Lansing, IL) as Lead Pastor

Bethel Church has begun a search for a Lead Pastor to lead it into a new chapter of ministry during which the congregation seeks to be the best it can be while affirming its core values (dynamic worship, discipled children/youth, and devoted fellowship), cultivating and nurturing the aspirational value of hospitality, and adapting to its new ministry context.

The Lead Pastor of Bethel Church will have the privilege of preparing and delivering biblically based and relevant sermons to the gathered community, as well as planning and leading inspiring worship services. The Lead Pastor will work alongside, encourage, and empower a core group of dedicated volunteers (Council) and professionals (staff members) towards the realization of the mission of Bethel Church to be all it can be. The Lead Pastor will also have the privilege of sharing in the pastoral care of the congregation.

Bethel Church, a congregation that worships 400-500 each Sunday, is committed to worshiping, growing and serving God together as a caring, supportive, generous, and ministry-minded congregation. The church carries out its regional ministry to the greater “Illiana” region from its home base in Lansing, IL., a multi-ethnic “community of price, progress, and possibilities” that borders Indiana to the east and is just twenty miles south of the world class city of Chicago and all of its amenities. The region is blessed by several Christian grammar schools (Lansing, Calvin-South Holland, Crown Point, Highland) and Illiana Christian High School (Dyer, IN), each of which is supported by the congregation.

Preference will be given to candidates ordained or willing to be ordained within the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Consideration will be given to those ordained by other Reformed bodies, such as, but not limited to, the Reformed Church in America and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
