This pastor will have the privilege of leading, enhancing, and directing the Family Ministry of the congregation with an emphasis on equipping parents to be the primary spiritual champions for their children. The perfect candidate for this position will be a leader of leaders, as well as an excellent communicator with an ability to cast vision before the entire church. The primary responsibilities for this position include: leadership, administration and planning, teaching and training adults.
River Valley Church is a healthy, multi-generational, non-denominational, elder-led congregation with a clearly defined mission to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus who love one another and impact the world with the gospel. That mission has given shape to a multi-faceted ministry that serves over 1000 people a week. Pastor Mark Moore has been serving the congregation as Lead Pastor for just over two years. During his short tenure, worship attendance has doubled, the facility has been upgraded, the staff has grown, and—more importantly—the Kingdom of God has been advanced.
Mishawaka, the Princess City, is a midwestern community with midwestern values. It lies nestled along the meandering path of the St. Joseph River. The city, founded in 1838, is now home for about 50,000 citizens and was recently recognized as ʺA Best Place to Raise Your Kidsʺ by Business Week Magazine. A total of 29 parks allow Mishawaka residents to golf, play ball, fish and exercise. The city, with its low cost of living, is home to Bethel College and to three high schools: Marian, Mishawaka, and Penn, the latter of which is across the street from River Valley Church. It also a good neighbor to South Bend, a community of 100,000 and the home of the University of Notre Dame.
