The Delavan (WI) Christian Reformed Church awaits the arrival of a new Senior Pastor, a man of God who will lead her into a new chapter of ministry in the name of Jesus Christ. This pastor will fulfill the biblical qualifications for elder and be ordained (or ordainable) as a pastor within the Christian Reformed Church in North America. As a general practitioner, the Senior Pastor will enjoy many opportunities to serve Christ and His Church, first and foremost of which is preaching the Word of God.
The ideal candidate for this exciting opportunity is characterized by a growing devotion to Jesus Christ as well as a deep love for the Reformed faith. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will be a gifted communicator who persuasively speaks to individuals, as well as to groups of all sizes, and a leader who effectively employs his leadership style for the advancement of the kingdom. He will also have the training and experience to lead the congregation through a season of redefinition and/or redevelopment which results in congregational renewal.
The Delavan Christian Reformed Church is an eighty-five year-old, stable congregation of over 400 souls with a rich tradition of faithful ministry that includes the sixty-five year old Delavan Christian School (3K through 8th grade). The congregation has been blessed by a solid and substantive core of people characterized by faithful attendance, sacrificial giving, dedicated service, and prevailing prayer. Worship services, centered on biblical preaching, provide the foundation of an extensive ministry that specializes in the nurture of children and youth. The ministry is supported by a traditional but aesthetically pleasing and functional facility. The congregation is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
Delavan, WI is a stable community of nearly 9,000 people (up 6% since 2000) in Walworth Country (over 100,000 people). The city of Delavan, less than an hour west of Milwaukee, includes many family-friendly, small-town amenities, including beautiful parks, Comus Lake, Delbrook Golf Course, and much, much more. The city borders the township of Delavan with its beautiful 1900 acre lake by the same name, a vacation destination for many. In addition to the Delavan Christian School, the region includes the Wisconsin School for the Deaf (Delavan) and Faith Christian School (Walworth).
