Parkview Community Church (Glen Ellyn, IL), a nondenominational church serving the western suburbs of Chicago, is seeking its next Worship Leader. Each week this gifted artist will be responsible for creating and delivering an inspiring gathering through words (both spoken and sung) which encourages 750-800 adults who gather weekly to join their hearts and voices in worship.
The ideal candidate for this position is a dedicated Christ-follower, gifted leader both musically and creatively, with experience serving the local church and leading congregational worship in this post-evangelical culture. He or she will also possess strong social skills, a strong work ethic, and thrive in a collaborative environment. That skill set will be supported by an appreciation and understanding of the overall flow of the Sunday service, as well as a desire to think creatively about the different elements within it.
The Worship Leader will enjoy the flexibility and freedom needed to provide leadership and creativity for an essential aspect of the congregation’s ministry. Plus, he or she will join an enthusiastic and dedicated ministry team, led by Co-Lead Pastors Dave Davis and Ray Kollbocker, seeking to live into the congregation’s vision to love their community into a transformative relationship with Jesus.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who loves building teams and architecting creative gatherings designed to connect with people on a spiritual and emotional level. This person will have a deep understanding of the power of story and of his or her own journey, coupled with a desire to share this journey with those they serve.
The Village of Glen Ellyn, a community of nearly 30,000 residents, has been described as one of the best places to live in the state of Illinois. Located in the center of Du Page County, the village has much to offer by way of education, shopping, dining, the arts and entertainment. Plus, it is just 23 miles west of Chicago, which is easily accessible from Glen Ellyn’s downtown Metra station.
